The Board of Directors is The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Silvester Wayiti (Pr. Eng.), as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NORED Electricity Pty (Ltd) effective 16th March 2026 for the next five (5) years.
Mr. Wayiti is a registered Professional Engineer and brings over seventeen (17) years of engineering and executive leadership experience across Namibia’s electricity supply industry. His expertise spans in entire electricity supply chain (i.e. generation, transmission, and distribution), and possess experience in business development, corporate governance, project and contract management, people management, stakeholder relations, and performance management. He combines technical competence with strategic leadership, underpinned by a solid understanding and a complete exposure of the entire Namibia’s electricity supply industry.
Prior to this, he served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HOPSOL Africa Pty (Ltd), a renewable energy engineering company since 2023. He also held senior roles at CENORED and NamPower, including Executive for Network Engineering and Expansion and Technical Lead Project Manager.
Mr. Wayiti (Pr. Eng.) holds a Master of Engineering degree specializing in Engineering Management from University of Pretoria, a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering obtained from the University of Cape Town, South Africa and Executive Leadership Certificate from Oxford University, Said Business School, United Kingdom as well as Board Certification from the University of Stellenbosch’s Business School.
